Designer Layla Chatoor held an exclusive press viewing of her new summer pret and summer resort collections on Friday 6^th May at her new walk-in studio.

Known for her delicate, feminine aesthetic, Layla Chatoor is celebrating her 22^nd year in fashion. Her intricate, contemporary bridals combine exquisite craftsmanship and a fashion forward aesthetic. Having previously confined her popular pret to periodic exhibitions, Layla has now inaugurated a permanent walk-in studio for pret and light formals.

Her latest summer pret collection includes a fusion range that includes statement digitally printed pants in pure silk and a variety of tops in various cuts. The collection also features more formal outfits in silk, silk-net, organza and maysuri silk, delicately embellished with threadwork, crystals and pearls. With a predominantly pastel palette and modern silhouettes, the collection is perfect for formal Eid functions and summer weddings.

The viewing also featured Layla Chatoor’s acclaimed summer resort collection, Liberte. Inspired by Coachella, a music festival that is as known for its style as its sounds, Liberte has a laid-back yet luxe feel. The collection channels the boho-chic vibe at Coachella and the fact that it’s a place where celebrities and the general public come together to celebrate and have fun. Layla has combined modern silhouettes with lace, prints and subtle beading for a luxurious yet free-spirited feel.

The exclusive viewing was attended by Karachi’s top fashion journalists and bloggers and was an opportunity for them to see the collections up close and meet Layla herself.

Hello lovelies, today I am here with a perfume review after a long time. The focus of my blog was perfumes when I started writing this blog then it slowly shifted towards cosmetic reviews more so today I thought to write a perfume review again.

The perfume i am talking about is Today by Avon, as we all know Avon is a popular Uk brand with a lengthy list of products and fragrances under its name. I bought this perfume solely because it won FiFi award in 2005, so I ordered it without sampling from Al hathboor intl who are Avon distributors in UAE.

About the perfume:

Today is the first fragrance in Avon’s trilogy of love. The face of Today’s ad campaign is Salma Hayek. The fragrance includes exotic tropical florals including strelitzia, also known as bird of paradise, and butterfly bush. The composition starts with the refreshing notes of freesia and cactus sap, while the note of white pepper ads some drama to this melody. Exotic flowers smell like honey. Base note includes sandalwood, cedar, velvety musky notes with a splash of rose water. Perfume was launched in 2004. It also won a 2005 FiFi award.

My views:

This perfume has beautiful golden packaging and the bottle is a simple square bottle, its very heavy and looks expensive.

The perfume is mainly floral,you get lots of white flowers and freesia, its a very very strong perfume and it stays on clothes for days. This perfume can be worn in any season , when you sniff it, it smells of gardania ,yellow flowers and green leaves. In my opinion is a big flower bomb and kind of overwhelming ,at least for myself. It has huge sillage and longevity and it can become a darling of a floral perfume lover. I do not wear it as it gives me massive headache but it still is a beautiful creation with such a reasonable price tag. I bought a 50 ml bottle for 99 dhs.

Today I am talking about a foundation by forever 52. It's a brand which is available in many malls in United Arab Emirates, I bought mine from Safeer Mall's cosmetic candy kiosk. This brand has an impressive range of eye shadows, long lasting lipsticks and many other things. As far as I know, forever 52 is a German brand and its quite popular in the middle east also.

I bought their high definition liquid foundation from their premium line, so let's see how it turned out.

The packaging:
First of all the packaging is quite sleek, and the design of bottle is quite similar to makeup forever high definition foundation. This foundation is available in many shades and I successfully found my perfect shade with the help of the S.A .

My thoughts:
This foundation is actually very good, its very light weight and stayed on my face in Dubai outdoors for many hours. Its not oily or thick and it has that light coverage I like in foundations. Overall I am very pleased at this random purchase of mine, the only drawback is that you have to shake it up before applying because the ingredients get kind of separated while not in use for longer time.

I have just recovered from c-section and I am currently using the stretch marks creme by mustela , these are only samples and for good results , I need to buy the bigger tube, I like the lightly fragrant creme which is non sticky , overall a very nice product.

As a mother I have to deal with the scary nappy rash on a daily basis. My new born baby is having diaper rashes and I used up the small product sample tube on her already, this creme smells lovely and is very soothing on diaper rash effected areas, I really like this product and its totally recommended from my side.
