Maybelline

Maybelline Colossal kajal 12 hr formula review and swatches

December 29, 2014 Maya 1 Comments

Hello dolls,
Today I am reviewing Maybelline Newyork's famous colossal kajal which was available in 6 hr formula before and now its available in 12 hrs formula in Pakistan too.
I never really bought colossal kajal, don't know why I kept myself away from this lovely product for years, just bought it now and I have no idea how the previous one worked.

What the product claims:
For eyes that speak volumes, choose Colossal Kajal.
This deep black kajal creates smudge-free bold lines that last for up to 12 hours. Fortified with 5 enriching ingredients, Maybelline’s Colossal kajal not only beautifies your eyes, but soothes and nourishes them as well.

How to use:
Draw a neat black stroke along your lower waterline. for a more dramatic look, add a bold stroke on the upper lid. To remove, use the Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover.

My thoughts:
I am really happy with colossal kajal so far, my eyes are super sensitive and I usual avoid wearing anything on my waterline, but I am so relieved that this kajal did not irritate my eyes at all. Its formula is so creamy and glides on smoothly on eyes and waterline, with two swipes intense black color can be achieved. From my eyes its easier to remove with a wet wipe but its really difficult to remove from my hand.Though it is ok when it comes to smudging ,i feel it can smudge & budge and transfer if someone has oily lids.
It stays on for hours ,12 hrs ,I m not sure, because I do not wear a lot of makeup and I dont keep it on for a long time. In my experience it stays on for like a decent 8 - 9 hours and then tends to dim in color and starts fading. Overall I am happy with the intense color, smooth application and long wear,I wish it was really waterproof but what you can ask for more in such a little price.I 'll give a 4/5 to this kajal. I am going to keep buying this one.
Price & availabilty:
priced at 299,available on all major stores and Maybelline counters throughout Pakistan.

Pros:
*creamy formula, super easy application
*Intense black color
*stays put for hours
*really slim packaging
*does not irritate eyes
*very affordable

Cons:
*can smudge & transfer on oily eyelids

Oriflame very me foundation

Oriflame very me foundation

December 22, 2014 Maya 10 Comments

Hello dolls.
Today I am reviewing Oriflame very me foundation in ivory.
This liquid foundation comes in four shades: Porcelain, Ivory, Sand, Cocoa

The product says: get an extra vitamin kick for your skin. Like a smoothie for your face, this nourishing foundation is enriched with berry and yogurt extract to give you flawless, picture perfect skin.
My Thoughts:
Oriflame very me foundation comes in a cute little flat plastic tube, 30 ml in size. It has a nozzle to squeeze the product out of the tube. I like the packaging, which is quite sturdy, cap holds in place so you can pop into your bag when going outside.

This foundation has a very faint fruity smell, which is not too noticeable. The product is really like a smoothie and its of medium consistency, neither too thick nor too runny, just the right consistency. This smoothie foundation can be applied so smoothly with just hands and it blends in with the skin very well. I really like how it feels on my skin, really soft & velvety texture which is quite matte actually. I am not sure if it stays on the face in summers as I never wore it in summers. It gives medium coverage, quite decent in my opinion, its build-able but  I just take a little drop of this foundation and that's enough for me. This ivory shade is a little dark for my face, but I use it when I want to give a tanned feeling to my complexion. I am really impressed with this foundation and its a  total thumbs up for me.
Pros:
*sturdy packaging
*economical
*travel friendly
*hygienic
*decent coverage
*easily available
Cons:
*limited shade range
Availability:
Very me smoothie foundation can be bought from your local Oriflame representatives throughout Pakistan,or you can buy it online from just4girls.pk.
Price:
599 rupees for 30 ml.
Thanks for reading, ciao!

Rasasi relation

Relation by Rasasi for women review

December 16, 2014 Maya 7 Comments

Hello pretties,
Today I am reviewing Rasasi's Relation perfume. Rasasi is a UAE based company which has a phenomenal number of perfumes for men and women under its name. House of Rasasi produces Arabic and modern, both kinds of perfumes for its consumers and is a well known brand in Pakistan & Internationally also.
(from google images)
According to their website:
The continual movement of the two energies is what keeps the world going. These two energies the Yin and Yang together are synonymous of a perfect whole, one is lost without the other and causes turmoil in our day today behavior and attitude. And together they form a unique force which can even create life. To cherish this alchemy Rasasi has created the perfume Relation.
Top Notes: Peach, Green tea
Middle Notes: Bulgarian rose, Lilac, Jasmine
Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla
My thoughts:
Its comes under the category of oriental perfume,Its a very nice & sophisticated creation by Rasasi. Its kind of floral & its green dry leafy kind of smell mixed with soft musk, which is really difficult to describe. The perfume comes in eau de parfum & longevity is excellent. It stays on clothes throughout the day.It comes with a matching body spray which has the exact same fragrance and great staying power as well. I have noticed relation's body-spray flying off the shelves of Al-fateh again & again and mostly its out of stock,so I think its very popular in Pakistani females. To be honest I find Relation to be really unique, its a mature, pleasant & sophisticated scent and doesn't come with a hefty price tag. It has been my sister's HG fragrance since I gifted her a few years back and she still clings to it. Its a good one, priced under 2500 rupees in Pakistan,(not entirely sure). It is easily available all over Pakistan. In Dubai, 42 dhs for 50 ml. Relation gets a thumbs up from me totally.

Avon

Avon surrender for women review

December 12, 2014 Maya 3 Comments

Hi beauties!!
Today I am reviewing Avon Surrender for women.
Surrender by Avon was launched in 2004 and is catagorised as  an oriental floral.
Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, pear, freesia, tea
Middle notes: rose, flamboyante, bayberry
Base notes: patchouli, amber, musk
In many countries, Surrender is available and in some countries it has been discontinued. I bought it from UAE and it is still available there.
My thoughts:
This perfume comes in very sleek box and the bottle is very thin, the color is really pretty in my opinion. This perfume is really strong and it is for the women who are strong and want to make a statement. When I saw the notes , I thought oh! it is a floral scent but man how wrong I was.
When I first sprayed Surrender, I was taken aback, I was like no way it can't be a women's perfume.I thought this was the men's version of the same perfume. I checked again but it said 'for her'. I find Surrender to be extremely powerful  & masculine. I don't find any sweetness or feminine side of it.
I feel its peppery in the beginning and takes a musky side after a few hours. Its is actually a really musky fragrance.
Though Avon fragrances are considered cheap, this does not smell cheap at all. Probably bayberry is the main reason of the spiciness , because its a spice used in Mediterranean cuisine &  it adds the peppery feeling of this fragrance. On the other hand, its obvious that patchouli & burgamot combo gives it a masculine touch.
This is a potent perfume and only 2 sprays would last the whole day. It stays for 7-8 hours on clothes. If someone likes to wear spicy, musky and masculine perfume, this one is spot on, a powerhouse fragrance, you can either love or leave it, there is no in between. It is priced  at 99 dhs in Avon's u.a.e catalog.
Thanks for reading, ciao...

Color studio eyeliner

Color Studio Professional Pro dip eyeliner review

December 10, 2014 Maya 1 Comments

Hi beauties!!
Today I am writing a small review on Color Studio professtional pro dip eyeliner in jet black. I was looking for a matte eyeliner and I really liked this one.
This eyeliner is really cute and color payoff is excellent. It really gives intense black color & is totally matte. This eyeliner has a very fine firm felt tip with which it so easy to draw winged eyeliner. It says its 100 percent waterproof but I can easily remove it water but the plus point is that its smudge & budge proof (I tried to smudge it with my finger but its quite strong). One other good thing is that even though its not waterproof, it doest not leave any mess after washing which is great for me at least. I am loving this little beauty & will keep buying it since its very little in quantity. Its a thumbs up for me.

Pros:
*travel friendly
*easy to apply
*intense black color
*totally matte
*odourless
*pocket friendly

Cons:
*not waterproof
*too little in quantity
I bought it for 495 rupees and its available in cosmetic stores & on Color Studio stands throughout Pakistan.

Essence glossy lip balm

Like flavoured lipgloss-essence glossy lipbalm review

December 09, 2014 Maya 4 Comments

Hello pretties!!
I just bought essense lipbalm and today I am writing my thoughts about it.
Essense glossy lipbalm comes in many flavours and has delicious names like apple pie, mint drop, cherry brownie, etc ,I picked up mango icecream flavour because I loved the color so much.
Essense glossy lipbalm comes in a mini plastic tube and you can squeeze the balm out to apply on your lips. This lipbalm is really glossy and its really sweet also. I don't like my lipgloss or balm to be sweet so I am a little disappointed. It really smells & tastes of some sweet dessert.
The color looks really pretty in the tube but its almost sheer, does not cover the lips at all. Its good for someone who likes sheer lipgloss. I applied it on my lipstick & the color looked really pretty. I' ll just use it like that, on top of matte lipsticks i guess.I bought it for 230 rupees. It is available in department stores & essense counters.
pros:
*cute packaging
*easy to carry around
*keeps lips soft & moist
*smells nice
*affordable
cons:
*wears off too soon
*almost sheer
Overall a nice little lipbalm.Thanks for reading.bye.

Himalaya herbals facewash

Himalaya Herbals clear complexion whitening Face Wash review

December 02, 2014 Maya 5 Comments

Hello dolls,
I am reviewing Clear Complexion Whitening Face Wash by Himalaya Herbals today. Himalaya Herbals is a well renowned company for its herbal products. They have so many types of facial scrubs, masks , cleansers, face masks, shampoo & creams to offer. I have used Himalaya's hair protein cream & shampoo for like 5 consecutive years.
I am using Himalaya's Clear Complexion Whitening Face Wash for about a month now. It says it has Licorice & White Dammer extract, with cucumber & pomegranate, use daily for visibly brighter , clearer, glowing skin.
My thoughts:
I usually stick to my Olay & clean & clear face washes but I am really satisfied with Himalaya Herbals face wash. This face wash has very cute packaging it has a little herbal & a little saffron like smell which is not unpleasant. It has really soft creamy texture and I like how my face feels after washing with this face wash. My skin feels very soft, clear, smooth & glowing. I have normal to dry skin, so its working very good for me in the winters. The biggest thumbs up is the price. You get 50 ml tube in just under 200 rupees & a little goes a long way. I am definitely going to try more of their products.

Avalon Organics Volumizing Rosemery shampoo

December 01, 2014 Maya 2 Comments

Hi girls,
I got a couple of shampoo bottles from Avalon organics and I am going to write a small review on it.
Avalon organics is a USA based company making natural skin care and hair products.
Here is what they say about their product:
Formulated with organic essential oils and extracts instead of harsh preservatives and hair-stripping cleansers, these gentle shampoos naturally nourish hair of all kinds. Whether you want to boost volume, enhance shine or strengthen locks, there is a pure, clean and effective shampoo for your hair care needs.
I used their rosemary volumizing  shampoo as I am always want to give some life to my thin hair. This shampoo has medium consistency, the bottle is very very average looking. It smells of rosemary & a little herbal which is not very strong, so I am not bothered by this.
This shampoo does not give a lot of volume to my hair, just average volume but I was really amazed how it controlled my hair fall.I hit the jackpot with this one, yay!! Clearly there is always less hair in the brush, and its such a good thing for me because I have been suffering from hair fall for as long as I remember. I 'll try to find their hair fall shampoo also because I am so so happy to find such a nice product for such a little price, I think under 5$.There is only one problem that it is not always available in Pakistan, next time I see their bottles, I am going to stock up as many as possible.Avalon organics I love u so much.
Thanks for reading, ciao...

essence super fine eyeliner pen

Essense superfine eyeliner pen review

December 01, 2014 Maya 2 Comments

Hello pretties!!
I am reviewing superfine eyeliner pen by essense today. Essense is such a lovely brand with so many cosmetics at affordable prices.I tried essense eyeliner pen which came from Germany, I was so impressed with the quality & precision of the eyeliner pen and since it belonged to my sis in law, she told me it lasted for a very long time.I saw essense on just4girls.pk and I ordered two pens.I am no expert at reviewing cosmetics so its just my personal experience I am sharing with you.
The superfine eyeliner pen is very light weight & easy to carry in bag, just line your eyes anywhere you want. The super fine felt tip makes it easier to draw perfect lines and color is super black & the color is totally matte also.I love this pen so much but I have some issues with it. First its not waterproof or smudge proof, and the felt tip works fine just for very few uses and after that it just becomes sloppy and wriggly and dries too soon.I have to wet the tip to apply it on eyes.I wish the tip was a little more strong.A very good product overall and I still love it ignoring the cons as its too cheap.I bought mine for around 400 i guess, I don't  remember exactly.
Pros:
*intense black color
*easy to apply
*pocket friendly
*easily available in pakistan
cons:
*not waterproof
*weak felt tip
*dries too soon
Thanks for reading ciao...
