The chief editor of Nigar Weekly and Chairman of Nigar Awards, Aslam Illyas Rashidi has confirmed that the preparations for Nigar Awards are happening with full zeal and without any hindrance. He has strictly denied the news being reported by various sources, regarding the High Court injunction. There is no doubt that the case is under hearing, where both parties are allowed to work within their scope. The respected court has not carried out any stay order regarding the Nigar Awards event. He also sternly condemned the rumors that there is a 10 years agreement between Nigar and the proprietor of Lush institute, Usama Qazi. The listed agreement was cancelled on 4^th December, 2016, because of his ill intent and incompetence. He is now using wicked techniques to hide his incompetence and failure. His behavior is a result of his hatred towards Nigar which again reflects his incompetence, ill intent and failure. Consequently he is not only harming the Nigar Awards or Nigar Weekly but the entire film industry.

It should be clear that through Nigar Awards, the Nigar Institute has been supporting and encouraging Pakistani Artists and the talent linked to the Pakistani Film Industry. It is because of this pivotal role being played by Nigar Institute that Nigar Award has been respected in the Private as well as in the Government sector. 

I request all friends and people linked to the film industry, that they should pay no heed to this false propaganda. Like always we need your cooperation to make Nigar Awards successful. Nigar Awards is the true identity of Pakistani Film industry. I hope that my explanation has cleared all sorts of misunderstandings created by this propaganda.

New prestige timepieces celebrate 50 years of the Omega De Ville

[Karachi: 17^th February, 2017] This year, OMEGA’s De Ville collection is celebrating its 50th anniversary and the brand is proud to unveil three new gold Prestige models to mark the occasion of this Golden Jubilee.

When the De Ville collection was first introduced in 1967, it gained considerable attention for its precision movements and meticulous finish and design. The look was simple and slim, with an instant appreciation for its refined form. Since then, the impressive technology and timeless good looks have remained firmly in place.

Staying true to this spirit, the De Ville “50^th Anniversary” model is classically formed with a vintage feel and a wonderfully accurate movement.

The 18K red gold model has a polished 39.50 mm case and crown, with a vertically brushed caseback that is embossed with the God Chronos medallion and engraved with the words “DE VILLE” and “50^th ANNIVERSARY”.

The white enamel dial is particularly radiant and is further distinguished by dark grey enamel prints including vintage Arabic numerals and an inner “railway” minute track. Inspired by OMEGA models of the past, there are also red enamel prints including the number “12” and lozenges at the 15, 40 and 60 minute markers. A round date window positioned at 6 o’clock along the minute track completes the dial.

The diamond-polished hands are in 18K red gold and the hour-minute hands are elegantly facetted.

Following in the De Ville’s tradition of industry-leading movements, the new piece is driven by the Co-Axial calibre 2500, a self-winding movement with a luxury finish.

Finally, the new watch is presented on a brown leather strap with an 18K red gold buckle.

The OMEGA De Ville “50^th Anniversary” comes with a 3-year warranty and will be available in OMEGA boutiques from the start of 2017. A further two models will be available in 18K white or yellow gold.

Asim Abbasi begins shoot for his directorial debut 'Cake'

[Karachi – 15^th February, 2017] Award-winning filmmaker Asim Abbasi, begins shoot for his directorial debut feature film titled 'Cake, starring of Aamina Sheikh, Adnan Malik and Sanam Saeed in lead roles.

“I have been watching the evolution of Pakistani cinema over the last five years and am extremely excited to be a part of this project with Asim Abbasi, with whom I share the vision of providing quality and meaningful entertainment to the audiences in Pakistan.” shared Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari, the Executive Producer of CAKE.

'CAKE is a film about responsibility and choices.' according to Asim Abbasi, the writer & director of the film. 'The story unravels layer by layer, as the characters confront past secrets and buried truths.'

Principal shoot of Cake will carry on till April 2017, with the film being shot in Karachi, Interior Sindh and London.

The screenplay is written by Asim Abbasi as well, with Mo Azmi as the Director of Photography and Aarij Hashimi as the Production Designer.

The film is being produced by a UK production company, Indus Talkies, with Mahnoor Amna Mahmood as the Associate Producer and Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari as the Executive Producer.

Gold that Glitters! Junii’s Birthday Bash with a White and Gold theme

14^th February, Karachi: The famous Junii Zeyad’s birthday bash was hosted by Maria Wasti, at her place, which was attended by celebrities, city’s socialites and friends. Some prominent personalities that attended the party included, Noman Ejaz, Asim Jofa, Ayesha Toor, Zara Tareen, Zhalay Sarhadi and her husband Amir Anees, Faisal Shah, Tooba Siddiqui, Noor Hasan and Mulghalar.

The birthday party had a gold and white theme with an entrancing décor. The hors d'oeuvre consisted of mouth watering Prawns, Shrimps and Sushi and the delicious cupcakes did an absolute justice to the sweettooth.
